If you’ve ever been curious to see what the analytics data from a massive platform looks like, you’re in luck. Google has just announced that they will be launching a Demo account for Google Analytics that can be used for training and learning all about this powerful set of tools. Interestingly, however, they are using real data from their eCommerce store.
As all experienced marketers know, Google Analytics is an extremely powerful way to learn just about everything you could ever want to know about your site (and then much more). It can, however, be a little confusing and even overwhelming at first. Using a demo account populated with real world data from a large merchandise store like this will help give users a better overall understanding not only of what Analytics can do, but how it should be used.
Clicking through some of the many options on the side will show even experienced marketers how Google uses the Analytics platform. This can help to provide valuable ideas on how it can be used for other, much smaller, sites and stores.
It is not entirely clear if this data will be kept completely live (that is what it seems to me) or if it will be imported every so often. Either way, however, it seems like a great opportunity to learn Analytics from the masters, and have some fun snooping in on the world of Google’s eCommerce site.
