In what is being described as the beginning of a ‘new era of transparency’ in the digital ad world, the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) has just released the names of the first 100 companies that have been approved to participate in the registry.  Companies that get registered by TAG have been verified by a strict process to be legitimate participants with their online advertising.

The process includes a full background check, a review that is powered by Dun & Bradstreet, and approval from TAG.  Companies that qualify are given a unique TAG-ID that they can then share with their partners and even add to their advertising inventory that they sell.

The companies that are included in this initial announcement are (in alphabetical order): 33Across, Adform, adMarketplace, Admiral, Admitad, Adtegrity, Advark, American Express, Amobee, AOL, AppNexus, AudienceScience, Bloomberg, BrightRoll, Canoe Ventures, Collective, comScore, Conversant, Dashbid, DataXu, Dealer.com, Disney, DoubleClick, DoubleVerify, Dstillery, engage:BDR, Essence, Exponential Interactive, Extreme Reach, Eyeview, Facebook, Forbs Media, Forensiq, Gamut Smart Media From Cox, Goodway Group, Google, GroupM, GumGum, Horizon Media, Incopro Ltd., Index Exchange, Integral Ad Science, IPG, Kromtech, Kryptowire, LKQD, McDonald’s, MediaMath, Merkle Inc., Moat, NBCUniversal, ndp, Netmining, Omnicom Media Group, OpenX, OwnerIQ, ProData Media, Publicis Groupe, PubMatic, Quantcast, RadiumOne, Retale, RhythmOne, RiskIQ, Rocket Fuel, RTK.io, RUN, Serious Eats, Simpli.fi, Sociomantic Labs, sovrn, SpotX, Swoop, Rubicon Project, The Trade Desk, The Weather Company, Thirdpresence, Time Warner Cable Media, Tremor Video, Trust Metrics, TubeMogul, Turn, Understone, Unruly Group Limited, Viacom International, Viant Inc., Vibrant Media, Videology, Visable Measures, Warner Bros., White Ops, whiteBULLET, WPP, Yahoo, Zemanta, and Ziff Davis.
