At 84 Icon George Lois is Creating New Ad Agency

Known for the “I Want My MTV” advertising campaign, among others,  George Lois is a well-known marketer that has been in the industry for decades and he is teaming up with PR shop TransMedia to create a new agency that is being called, “Lois TransMedia.”

If you haven’t heard of him, you likely recognize some of the marketing he has done in the past.  For starters, he is largely credited with putting Tommy Hilfiger on the map with his marketing efforts.  In addition he developed the iconic, “When You Got it, Flaunt It” ad slogan and campaign for Braniff Airlines.

When looking at digital marketing strategies most people wouldn’t first think to turn to someone who was doing graphic design and marketing before most of us were born, but that might just be a mistake.

The new ad agency will work with brands providing both traditional ads and Internet advertising, web marketing, public relations, social media and even film production.  While Louis is now 84 years old, he will be running the new agency, which is based in Boca Raton, FL.

Watching how this marketing legend brings his experience into digital marketing and advertising may be extremely interesting.  Whether you’re looking for an agency to promote your business or you are in the marketing industry yourself, this is certainly someone to keep a close eye on over the next few months and years.
