Instagram is conducting some advanced testing on their new analytics platform according to reports. The analytics system they are implementing is being called ‘Insights’ and based on the information that has been released so far, it looks like it is going to be quite advanced. Early reports are showing that the analytics system has been created largely for marketers to be able to get the information they need quickly and easily.
Marketers will be able to use the system to learn more about their specific followers as well as the interaction that is made with their posts. Specifically, a marketer will be able to identify the age of flowers, their geographic location, gender details and even what time of the day they are interacting with their posts. Details on the posts will show which images are posted during what times and how many impressions they are getting.
Instagram has long been a great marketing tool, but hasn’t really provided useful information to marketers. Some marketers used third party tools and services to gather the information they needed, but those were often quite limited. Based on the reports thus far, it seems like this is all about to change.
There is no word on when exactly the Instagram Insights will launch for all users, but it will most likely be in the coming weeks or months at the latest. This is certainly something that all marketers using this platform will want to start using right away.
