New Programmatic “Header” Bidding Launched

Many websites use a system known as ‘waterfall’ bidding where any ad inventory on their site is first offered to one potential purchaser and then if they don’t buy it, to the next and on down the list until someone buys it.  Of course, this activity takes place in a fraction of a second using advanced technologies, but even so it often leaves the website owner earning significantly less than they should for their ad space.

In an attempt to solve this problem, bRealTime is launching a new header bidding service that they are calling ‘Biddr+’.  This will help users manage large number of ad buyers in a way that will get the ad buyers the space they want, and the user the prices they deserve.

When using header bidding a user will use a JavaScript tag in the header that will make a call to the proper ad network or exchange.  If you want to use a variety of ad networks, however, you would previously need multiple JavaScript codes, which can result in your site performance being impacted.

The Biddr+ system, however, puts all the ad sources into one ‘container’ that is on the bRealTime system.  This container is then called through one JavaScript tag, which helps limit the impact on your site.  Once the call is made, the Biddr+ system determines the best ad for the page (highest paying) and serves it up to the users page.

This helps to get web property owners the ability to work with multiple great ad networks to help improve their overall profitability.
