Exhibitors Housing Management Trying to Scam Affiliate Summit Attendees

The below went out from Missy Ward on Facebook and Email, exposing a company trying to scam people into believing they are associated with Affiliate Summit. They are not. PMI called them and tried to get them return a call, with no luck — they don’t want to speak to us about what they are doing.

To: Affiliate Summit current and past attendees

Subject: Exhibitors Housing Management (may use aliases, Convention Hotel Management, Exhibition Housing Services, EHM Travel, CHM Travel)

Please beware of any calls or emails that you receive from someone who calls himself “Noah“ and uses the return phone number of (800) 600-4513 or (855) 265-1061.

This company is spamming the directory of attending companies that have appeared on past and current shows. (We list “Company Name” only.)

Basically, they are simply looking up the phone number from each of the companies and contacting them, asking for “the person responsible for their company attending Affiliate Summit West 2016”.

After being forwarded several of the voicemail and emails from our attendees, the calls and messages go something like this:

“Good morning, this is Noah, and I’m calling in regards to Affiliate Summit West 2016 – the conference your company is going to be attending in January in Las Vegas. I’m looking for someone who is responsible for handling that for your company. So give me a call back as soon as possible at my number, which is…”

As you will notice, they do not identify themselves as Exhibitors Housing Management, and they make it sound like Affiliate Summit is contacting them.

To be clear, they are in no way associated with us. We previously blogged about them back in 2014 and added them to a list of known scammers targeting Affiliate Summit attendees, located here:

Right now they have a McAfee WebAdvisor Warning, so I don’t recommend going to their website to check them out.

Rather, feel free to peruse what the following websites have to say about them before you make a decision to work with them or not.

Better Business Bureau: http://www.bbb.org/…/exhibitors-housing-management-in-san-…/

Complaints Board: http://www.complaintsboard.com/…/ehs-exhibitors-housing-the…

Scambook: http://www.scambook.com/…/167…/Exhibition-Housing-Management

800notes: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-600-4513

This man who was apparently so miffed at getting ripped off that he took the time to put up a youtube video that explains it all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUJ82ghwwCM

I could go on forever… But you got the point. Right?

If you’re contacted by someone who wants to help you book your travel to Affiliate Summit, it’s not us. Please feel free to send any questions about this kind of stuff our way.

Thanks again to all the Affiliate Summit attendees who have forwarded all this information to us!
