Graphics Improve Engagement by 225%

If you’re looking for a way to get your visitors to stay on your site longer and interact with it more, you should consider adding more custom graphics.  These graphics, which are more than just pictures added to a site, should contribute useful information and often come in the form of an infographic.  The reason this is so important comes from a recent study run by Digiday.

The study found that adding in original graphics to your posts can decrease the bounce rate by as much as 50%.  The number of page impressions per session also goes up by about 150%, and the visits last about 200% longer.

These statistics are quite impressive, and should not be ignored by anyone looking to engage with their customers.  You can use graphics to compliment text, or even as a standalone post, depending on what you’re working to accomplish.  However you use them, it seems that they will benefit you and your visitors greatly.

The study also seemed to find that pages with custom graphics enjoy a 6% higher conversion rate, which could translate into much higher profits when you consider the fact that you will be getting more page views and the higher conversion rate.

For many marketers, the big question will be how to get the high quality custom images they need to engage their audiences.  You can hire an internal graphics professional, outsource it to a third party or even learn to use any of the popular info-graphic design applications, many of which are free.  The important thing is to make sure you begin implementing good custom graphics to your site so you can enjoy the benefits discussed in this report.  You can see the full report HERE.
