Innovative Lead Authentication Tech Company gets $7 Million Investment

LeadiD has just announced that they secured a $7 Million investment in an “A” round investment opportunity.  The investment was led by Comcast Ventures, as well as Tribeca Ventures and Genacast Ventures contributing significant amounts as well.  LeadiD was founded in January 2011, and functions as the only independent, platform that enables the tracking of leads for brands and marketers.

Buying and selling leads is estimated to be a $5-7 Billion dollar per year industry.  Up until LeadiD, there was no effective way that lead buyers could determine the value of the leads they were purchasing.  They largely relied on the reputation of sellers, which is not exactly a safe way to do business. LeadiD offers a solution that attaches a unique identification code to every lead that is generated.  This ID code will then track information about the lead, including when it was created, where it came from, and many other pieces of essential information.

The Founder and CEO of LeadiD, Ross Shanken, said of his business, “Online Lead Generation is a multi-billion dollar industry.  But the practice of buying and selling leads traditionally has been highly inefficient.  We developed and scaled a system that allows sellers and buyers to determine the value of a lead and make purchase and resourcing decisions accordingly.”  He compares this service to CarFax, but for lead buyers.  Like each vehicle has a VIN, each lead should have a LeadiD which will allow the tracking throughout the lifecycle of the lead.

Sam Landman, from Comcast Ventures said, “LeadiD provides a technology that improves marketer outcomes, seller margins, and consumer experience.  No other neutral solution like this exists at any scale, and we’re excited to be backing the one with the first-mover advantage.”

The services from LeadiD can be used for B2B or B2C leads of virtually any type.  They are already working with clients including Urban Science, eFinancial, Consumer United and 350 others.  They have generated over one billion lead IDs for these clients to date.
