Facebook Streamlines Post Scheduling

The ability to schedule posts to your Facebook account has been around for about a year and a half, and it is a powerful tool for marketers.  The problem up until this point, however, is that it took way too much work just to schedule a simple post.  Each future post you wanted to schedule would take 12 steps, and it wasn’t very intuitive.  While better than nothing, it wasn’t a great solution.  Facebook announced an upgrade to this feature, which will reduce that down to just four simple steps.

To schedule a future post now, you simple write up what you want to say, choose ‘schedule post’ from the drop down menu, fill out the date and time, and hit schedule.  It is extremely quick and simple, which will make the lives of many marketers much easier.  This will be especially useful for those of us who market to places outside of our own time zone.  It will be possible to schedule posts to be published at the right times for the market, without having to get up in the middle of the night.

Admin’s of pages will also be able to view their scheduled posts conveniently in their admin panel.  Making changes, rescheduling or removing these future posts is quick and easy as well.

Have you used Facebook’s future posting option?  If so, what did you think?  What do you think of these changes?  Please, post your thoughts in the comments below.
